ENDLESSLY REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY

Happy Wednesday! Summer is officially over for us. My daughter started high school again yesterday. Today we began our four days a week getting up at 5:15 am to get her to the pool at 6:00 am for swim season. And I'll be doing lots of timing at swim meets.  It's so worth doing all this for her because she's working hard and getting faster this year. I know she's going to have a great season. I'm hoping to use some of my extra morning time to get more writing done.

And I just found a carpool partner. I'm so excited! It's definitely made life so much easier, especially since my daughter had to be at two swim practices a day in August and I was taking vacation time to drive her there.

Are you guys all in your Fall schedule?

I'm participating in Darcy Pattison's Random Acts of Publicity Week. It's where we promote other authors' books. This is such an easy one for me to do because I feel my blogger mission is to promote authors and their books. You can find out more and join here.

Today I'm excited to share ENDLESSLY by Kiersten White with you.I was lucky to get an ARC of ENDLESSLY from Kris at Imaginary Reads. If you haven’t checked out Kris’ blog, you should. She posts reviews, author interviews, and book giveaways that I really enjoy.

Here’s a blurb of ENDLESSLY from Goodreads:

Evie's paranormal past keeps coming back to haunt her. A new director at the International Paranormal Containment Agency wants to drag her back to headquarters. The Dark Faerie Queen is torturing humans in her poisonous realm. And supernatural creatures keep insisting that Evie is the only one who can save them from a mysterious, perilous fate.

The clock is ticking on the entire paranormal world. And its fate rests solely in Evie's hands.

So much for normal.

I think this is my favorite book in this series. Evie is back again trying to live a normal teenage life in high school and enjoy her awesome boyfriend Lend. Of course, the International Paranormal Containment, the Dark Fairy Queen, and some of the paranormal creatures in our world have other plans for her that don’t involve being a normal teenager.

You can’t help loving Evie. She’s so sympathetic wanting a normal life. And I love her sarcasm and wit. She really finds herself in this book, not flinching when hard decisions that put her in danger need to be made to help those she loves.

We see a whole lot more of dark, secretive Reth and get to know him better. (Don’t worry, there’s a lot of wonderful Lend too.) And we see what his plans for Evie are. You’ll have to read the book to see if she goes along willingly. One of the things I loved were the interactions between Evie and him, which are much more frequent in ENDLESSLY than the other two books in this series.

I was really struck by how good of a plotter Kiersten White is. This book was filled with problems and attempts to resolve the problems, not always successfully. Then Evie is moving on either to another attempt at solving the problem or a whole new one that I didn’t see coming. And the stakes keep going up till the end of the story.

Ending a book in a satisfying way is hard to accomplish. And it’s even harder for the last book in a series. But Kiersten does it artfully. And although I’m really sad to see this series end, I found the ending very satisfying. I can’t wait to read Kiersten’s first book in her next series.

Are you excited about this book? What other new releases are you dying to read?

Because I love all my awesome followers and believe in passing along books, I'm giving away my ARC of ENDLESSLY.  To enter, all you need to do is be a follower (just click the follow button if you’re not a follower) and leave a comment by September 22nd. I’ll announce the winner on September 24th. If your e-mail is not on Blogger, please list it in your comment. International entries are welcome.

If you mention this contest on Twitter, Facebook, or your blog, mention this in the comments and I'll give you an extra entry.

And don't forget to enter all the other contests listed at the top of my blog. I want to shout out about SKYLARK, a fantastic debut dystopian/fantasy by Meagan Spooner and SEND, a contemporary story about bullying told from the POV of the male bullier.

Here's what's coming up next. And so you know, I have a lot of fantastic things happening in September and October. So be sure to stop back and enter all the contests.

Friday, I'm participating in Jessica Shirvington’s Blog tour and giving away an ARC of her new book ENTICE. I can't wait to share it with you.

Next Monday I'm interviewing Mady for my ASK THE EXPERT series. She's Matt MacNish's daughter. His blog, The Quintessentially Questionable Query Experiment, is a great blog for authors. And I'll be giving away a copy of THE PECULIAR, an awesome fantasy/steampunk story, by Stefan Bachmann. It got so much buzz at BEA that I was dying to read it. I can't believe I was lucky enough to get an ARC to share with you.

Next Wednesday I'll be sharing some awesome news about one of our followers and helping her celebrate with a big giveaway. That's all I can say for now, so come back on Wednesday to learn more.

The following Monday I'm helping Kat Zhang celebrate her debut with an interview and giveaway of WHAT'S LEFT OF ME. I fell in love with this book from page 1. It was so awesome. I can't wait to share it with you.

And don't forget our Tuesday Tips and Casey's Thursday agent spotlights.

Hope to see you Friday!

I enjoyed Paranormalcy but never got around to reading Supernaturally or Endlessly. This sounds like a great addition to the story though! Great RAP highlighting!

This sounds like a trilogy I need to pick up and devour. I'm glad I found your blog--so many great new books!

I haven't started this series yet. On trilogies like this I like to wait until all the books are available before I start them. So now is about the time to pick it up!

Thanks so much!

Promoting other authors and their books is something easy for me too--most Mondays with the Marvelous Middle Grade posts. I adore sharing about books and their authors.

Our fall has kicked into gear too. After a pretty lazy-ish summer, fall can kick my butt some days.

Oh, man! I am so behind on this series, and I've heard from everyone about how good it is. I've seriously got to get #1 and catch up!

Thanks, Natalie! And here's hoping your daughter has a great year! Tough schedule. :o) <3

I'm participating in Random Acts of Publicity too! This week I'm posting brief reviews of four new compelling YA reads.

ENDLESSLY sounds adorable. Loved the first two books in the series. But Natalie, please don't enter me in the giveaway -- I just won two books this week.

I'm looking forward to reading ENDLESSLY. Sounds like a good read. And yeah to you for participating in the Random Acts publicity.

I am looking forward to reading ENDLESSLY. More so now with your comments. I was a bit let down with SUPERNATURALLY, so I'm happy to hear that ENDLESSLY picks things up a bit.

I will never complain again about having to get my 10 yo up at 6:45 am, so that he can catch his bus at 7:30 (and hour before the other two have to catch their bus or walk to school).

I read Paranormalcy but never got around to reading Supernaturally. One day I might read it. I enjoyed the first one, but not enough to jump on the sequel when it came out.

Yay! I'm delighted to see that you enjoyed ENDLESSLY. I love the book as well, especially seeing more of Reth. He's such a complex character; it was this book that really got me to love the guy. I agree that endings are hard, but this one was done pretty well. While I'm sad to see this trilogy end, Evie got the closure that she needed, and it'd be hard to top all the drama that happens in this book with another.

On the bright side, we do get to see Kiersten's new series. I will certainly be on the lookout for it as well!

That's an EARLY swim practice - good luck! I'm lucky to be able to take the kids to school with me in the AM (my older son catches the bus there as long as we arrive before 7:30). I read Paranormalcy but still have to catch up on the other two - a fun series!
